One year in the merry old land of Oz. Stories and pictures documenting the longest international adventure of my life... so far :)Liquorland is a liquor store here (obviously). Aussies fondly refer to liquor stores as Bottle Shops or to be more abbreviated, “Bottle-o”s.
The number of times I’ve purchased alcohol in a Bottle-o can be counted on one hand, just because liquor is so expensive here. When I do find myself inside one of these usually tiny, hole-in-the-wall, places, I am buying wine. I have to admit I go for the 2nd cheapest wine just because I don’t want to buy the absolute worst one and look like that poor girl with no money, my true identity.
I also tend to be more of a white wine girl or a rose girl just because I find it more delicious to drink a cold drink than a lukewarm nasty beverage.
Back to the original point of the post.. I walked into Liquorland the other day and to my absolute surprise (and, lets be honest, joy), I saw that there were some bottles of wine on special. And this special was indeed SPECIAL! Buy one, get one free. FREE!
I almost burst out into song because I could hardly contain my excitement. I will be checking back frequently :)
